A Little Something To Think About (Part One) by Mitzie Petree
Walking out of his dorm room, Mitch hears something crunch underneath his feet. As he looks down at what has cause the noise, he notices that his right tennis shoe is not tied.
He bends down to tie it when he notices a crumpled piece of paper laying there beside his shoe. He looks around to see if anyone is watching and when once he is satisfied that nobody is watching him, he reaches over and cups the crumpled paper into his hand.
He stands up and goes back into this dorm room quickly. As soon as he is inside of his room, he sits down on his bed and slowly begins to straighten out the crumpled up piece of paper.
He gets up and goes over to his desk where he clears off a spot that he can lay the paper down on. Here he continues to lay the paper down and continues to gently straighten it out, but this time using the edge of a book making sure that all the creases are gently rubbed out.
Once satisfied, he picks up the paper and heads back over to his bed where he excitedly begins to read the writing…
You do not know me, but I have seen you around campus on many occasions. We have a couple of classes together. I would love to meet you, but I am too shy to approach you. Leaving this in front of your door was the only way that I knew how to get your attention. If you would like to meet me, then I will be sitting by the fountain outside the Student Hall until noon today. My name is Mitzie.
He sat there not knowing what to think, then he looked in the mirror at the way he was dressed. He immediately jumped up to change into something a bit more presentable.
Walking out of his dorm room, Mitch hears something crunch underneath his feet…
He immediately jumped up to change into something a bit more presentable. He put on a pair of slacks with a nice button down shirt, then tied his tie very loosely around his collar so that his collar hung open. He was so nervous, because he had never had anyone want to meet him in such a mysterious way before.
He could not remember a Cristy in any of his classes, but then again, he was rather shy and did not pay too much attention to anyone else.
As he looked at his watch, he noticed that it was 11:55, which meant he only had five minutes to get to the fountain in front of the Student Hall. He would have to run all the way there if he would even make it on time then.
He got an idea. He had never done this before, but for the first time in his life he was going to. He ran out of his dorm and grabbed the first bicycle he came to and off he went.
He paddled as fast as he feet would take him and cut across every yard that he could. He even went through the Dean’s yard, who was having some type of luncheon at the time. However, at this point he was more worried about getting to the fountain on time to meet this mysterious female.
All other concerns were just thrown to wind without any concern for the moment, which was most definitely out of character for him. He arrived at the fountain and only saw one person sitting on it, but this could not be her. He parked the bicycle and slowly began walking up to her.
She was beautiful….
